Malibu Fires: A Personal Plea for Support

I know this isn’t the type of post I usually share here, but today, I’m writing from the heart about something incredibly personal and important to me.

I spent 20 years of my life in Malibu, a place that shaped me in so many ways. It’s not just where I lived — it’s where I built lifelong friendships and became part of an incredible community. Today, that community is under siege from devastating fires, and my friends — some of the most selfless, brave people I know — are fighting to protect it.

Many of these friends are part of the Malibu Community Brigade, a volunteer-based group on the front lines of the fires. These are people who have stepped up time and time again, saving homes and lives without hesitation. One of these heroes, a close friend of mine, lost their own home while helping others. I can’t even begin to imagine the weight of that loss, yet they continue to give everything to protect their neighbors.

I know times are tough, and asking for donations isn’t easy — especially during a time when so many are facing their own challenges. But if you’re able to, even the smallest contribution can make a huge difference. The Malibu Community Brigade is a grassroots organization that truly puts resources directly where they’re needed most.

If donating isn’t an option, sharing their story and spreading the word can help amplify their efforts and bring them the support they need.

This is more than a cause to me — it’s about standing with people who have been there for their community through thick and thin. These are my friends, and I’m asking for your help to support them in any way you can.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for showing compassion for those who are truly giving their all to protect others.

With gratitude,

John
